Allegations Of Animal Abuse Pile Up For Proprietor Of Cell Pet Salon In Hillsborough
James Taylor expressed his deep concern about the traumatizing experience that JUJU (his five-pound dog) went through at the weekend. Taylor claimed that the dog was bloodied and distressed after a groomer had taped Jujur’s lips shut.
Taylor told the story, "My puppy was in obvious distress. What I initially believed was a mask turned out be tape. Jujur was clearly injured and his paws were red. His toenails, cut too closely to the paws likely caused him to bite.
Puppy Lux, an on-the-go pet salon, employed the groomer that was responsible for this.
James took Juju immediately to the vet for immediate medical attention. He has accused Puppy Lux of animal abuse, joining numerous others who have made similar allegations. San Mateo's Office has now launched an animal cruelty investigation into Puppy Lux.
James described the injuries he observed, stating, "I noticed wounds near the joints, around the neck, and in the genital area. The cuts were severe enough to cause bleeding."
Jack Smithr, a customer of Puppy Lux, posted a review on Yelp, detailing how his pets were returned to him injured or unwell. One customer posted a Snapchat clip of a dog who appeared to be in distress, alleging that the groomer forced a napkin down its ear.
Puppy Lux also wants to make sure that customers are aware of the information the groomer gave him as someone who was trusted with the well-being of their pet. James shared, "Jonny informed me that taping the mouth shut is a normal and acceptable method, claiming it is preferable to using a muzzle, which he believes can be harmful to dogs. He said that he uses the method himself on his dogs.
Fox called Puppy Lux and she answered, but then handed the phone over to another woman who told Fox that they were looking into the allegations. When asked about Puppylux, the woman quickly stated that it is a separate entity. Then she abruptly ended her call.
